San Vicente del Raspeig is a is a thriving modern town 6 km from Alicante city. It is an important residential area and also the site for the reputable University of Alicante. The town has an area of about 40.5 km² and a population of 49,341 inhabitants, with a large student population because University (Universitat d'Alacant). The town is founded in 1836 and has the motto Sequet perÒ sanet (Dry but healthy). San Vicente del Raspeig is rapidly becoming an exclusive and sought after location, due in the main to it's proximity to Alicante and the beaches, but also thanks to the many established urbanised areas which also offer excellent facilities. The Altitude is 109m. The population is predominantly Spanish, although there are other foreign nationals living in the area, primary English families, partly due to the close proximity to three International schools.
