There is very good access to the village and from the popular coastal resort of Torre del Mar a half hour drive on a mountain road takes you up through the villages of Algarrobo, ( where there is a connection to the new coastal motorway ) Sayalonga and CÓmpeta. Canillas de Albaida is about two and a half kilometres beyond CÓmpeta. Like most of the neighbouring towns it is easygoing and relaxed and has some very nice restaurants with shady terraces, the ideal places to relax and enjoy the local cuisine which includes dishes such as fennel soup "potaje de hinojos" or the delicious cold almond and garlic soup "ajo blanco". From the village there is easy access to a well know picnic spot called La Fabrica de La Luz which is well within the boundaries of the WildlifeReserve.
