In addition there are the small resorts and areas of Mal Pas, Bonaire, Coll Baix, Barcares and Alcanada. There are also the port of of Alcudia, Puerto Alcudia. The town is an historic town with Roman, Byzantine and Moorish influences. It takes its name from the Arabic for “the hill”. Alcudia town has no beach, but to the north are the areas of Marina, Mal Pas and Barcares. On the beaches here you will find coves that are quieter than the port’s beach. Mal Pas and Cala San Pedro at is a good example. Rocky around here, and some parts, like Bonaire, have no beach to speak of. Marina is much more exposed as it’s on the bay of Pollensa. It’s very popular with kite-surfers. Bonaire is a good centre for watersports and it boasts its own small Marina.
